Wai Ariki Hot Springs and Spa is Rotorua’s adults-only cultural wellness destination. While the kids are in full holiday mode, we’re holding space for the parents, caregivers, and adults need somewhere to land.

TWO HOURS THAT ARE ENTIRELY YOURS
School holidays have a way of filling every corner. The noise, the logistics, the constant forward motion. At Wai Ariki, we invite you to step out of that for a while.

Our Wai Whakaora (Restorative Journey) is a two-hour experience rooted in the traditions of Ngāti Whakaue, the iwi who own and steward this place. You’ll move through geothermal pools fed from deep within the earth and bathe in The Sanctuary (Āhuru Mōwai), guided by the principles of hauora (holistic wellbeing): tending to taha tinana (your physical self), taha hinengaro (your mind), and taha wairua (your inner life).

It’s not about switching off. It’s about coming back to yourself.

WHILE YOU’RE IN ROTORUA THESE SCHOOL HOLIDAYS
If you’re making a weekend of it in Rotorua, or passing through from Auckland, Waikato, or the Bay of Plenty, Wai Ariki is worth building into your visit. We’re in central Rotorua at 1047 Whakaue Street, with free on-site parking.

Minimum age for all bathing and spa experiences is 16. Younger visitors are welcome in Te Rourou café and Te Aronui retail store.

TE ROUROU CAFÉ
Come in, slow down, and stay a while. Te Rourou, our on-site café, is a warm and unhurried space with views across the lake to Mokoia Island. No spa booking needed. This Matariki season, we’ve got something for the whole whānau (family):

• Ice cream for the kids
• Matariki Hot Chocolate
• Matariki colouring pages and pencils to keep little hands busy while you take a proper breath
